Manufactured Home Builders

The Materials and Components

The materials and components used to create manufactured housing are the same as those used to build a site-built home, the only dissimilarity is that the homes are assembled in a factory, and later transported to a site to be installed. Materials in a mobile dwelling include 2×4 and 4×4 frames, insulation, shingles, siding, and mostly anything else used in a site-built residence. Manufactured home walls are usually around 6 inches thick, and filled with insulation, for fire proofing and energy efficiency. Outside walls are typically covered with siding, and there are many aesthetic options available in an assortment of textures or colors. Shingles are also offered in the same variety. Roofs on mobile residences are made to withstand severe weather and energy efficient windows can be  selected as well. There are endless options to customize your residence. Building a dwelling in a factory may seem strange at first, but there are many benefits. The factory building process is efficient in that it saves time, while increasing reliability and lowering costs.

Factory Built Homes Save Time and Money

You may be asking, how does one save time by building a manufactured home in a factory? This is a good question with two equally important answers. First, there are no weather delays when manufactured house parts are built in a factory. The building process can proceed uninterrupted and with no weather damages to materials or delays. Along with conserving time in manufacturing a residence, money is saved because there is absolutely no wasted material, as one might need materials to be replaced due to weather damages with site-built homes. Second, a factory is the ideal environment for home construction. Processes are controlled, as the house passes through the factory in the hands of unique experts who complete each phase of construction in a safe & controlled environment. There is no time waste from setting-up and breaking down tools and machines every day, because the factory has each station ready to assemble 24-7.

The factory setting results in manufactured homes that are built faster than site-built houses. Manufactured house construction is measured in weeks, while site built house projects are measured in months. As a result of the savings in time and equipment, mobile housing can yield at least a 40% decrease in price than site-built homes.

Manufactured Home Production in the Factory

Just like any successful business, mobile home factories prosper by offering a superior product, and keeping to disciplined and quality-oriented procedures. In the factory, you will find a well organized group of professionals working as a team on every details of your home.

Each and every factory-built house is produced in a group of phases in a dedicated district of the factory by a specialized team. The workers in the first unit construct the deck and walls of the house, using tools developed for their specific tasks. Once all of the tasks for the first phase are complete, the dwelling will move to another area of the factory. Manufactured residences are usually built in one or two sections, called single-wides and double-wides, respectfully. However, triple-wide dwellings are also an option. Along the process of manufacturing a factory-built house, it is also possible to customize according to your taste. You can select everything from the carpet, cabinetry, and drapery, to even placing extra walls, additional closet space or sky-lights in  different parts of your home.
